Hey Charlie, I just stumbled onto your blog - I forgot you had one. I appreciate what you said. My conviction is that I must teach unapologetically the Sovereignty of God in all things, including the blows of life, ie. Frowning providence because when they are in the midst of it they are too shocked and unprepared to listen. Thanks for the reminder of how important it is to teach the whole counsel of God.

Charlie,

It is SO WONDERFUL to see that you have started a blog. I cannot wait to dig into it. I don't, for the life of me, know how you do it all; teaching, preaching, counseling, writing and being a husband and father. You continue to this day to be an inspiration to me. I will never forget the time I spent directly under your wings and I will cherish the time I still, even if very far away.

Welcome to the blogging world, Charlie. I'm a dinosaur in this realm but love to pick up the scraps that others leave behind. Great book selections, btw...I've read them all and they're very helpful. For what it's worth, I'll throw out a few more books that have really shaped a God centered approach to the way I do evangelism and missions--"Tell the truth" by Metzger, "Today's evangelism" by Reisinger, and "God is the gospel" by Piper.

God bless

I have J.I. Packer, Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God and I highly recommend it. It is my absolute favorite book in my library.
