I appreciate what you said. My conviction is that I must teach unapologetically the Sovereignty of God in all things, including the blows of life, ie. Frowning providence because when they are in the midst of it they are too shocked and unprepared to listen. Thanks for the reminder of how important it is to teach the whole counsel of God. For what it's worth, I'll throw out a few more books that have really shaped a God centered approach to the way I do evangelism and missions--"Tell the truth" by Metzger, "Today's evangelism" by Reisinger, and "God is the gospel" by Piper.
